Xylographie en couleurs. Un personnage masculin tenant une pivoine chevauche un grand coq dont une patte repose sur un sceptre "ruyi" (如意), symbole auspicieux. Le coq 雞 (ji), animal annonçant le lever du soleil, renvoie à l’idée d’alternance entre jour 日 (ri) et nuit 月 (yue), ainsi qu'au caractère 吉 (ji) qui désigne la chance et dont il est homonyme. Cette estampe (gauche) forme un diptyque avec son pendant (droite), illustrant la formule 大吉大利 (daji dali) souhaitant chance et profits à la maisonnée qui affiche la paire sur ses portes et fenêtres.
La production est signée de l'ancien atelier de Tian Cheng de Zhuxian 朱仙 (Kaifeng, Henan): 天成老店 (Tian Cheng laodian).
